Describe how you work in a team.
I make sure I communicate with my team mates about who has got which seam. I am loud and I always support and have all my teammates backs.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
MVP award 2021. I felt I had earned this award. I had put in the hours of extra training and exercise to build my skill and my mindset.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
Outside of volleyball I enjoy singing and acting. I enjoy these hobbies because they allow me to feel separated from the world, like that is the only thing that on my mind, much like volleyball.
Who are your role models and why?
My mom is my role model because she has taught me resilience and the importance of hard work. She is truly the bravest most hard working person I have ever known. She also taught me to be a leader on and off the court, even outside of volleyball.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
I played soccer for a long time and stopped playing in 2020 due to COVID. I loved playing soccer, but my love for volleyball became stronger after 2020. I dropped soccer because volleyball was becoming a bigger and more important part of my life. I play lots of leisure sports like football, baseball, soccer and badminton. I feel like when you play multiple different sports you get more out of it for your most important sport.
Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?
Grade 9 Honour Roll. I was surprised by this achievement because near the end of my elementary school career a lot of people doubted me and told me I should take all applied courses in high school. I didn’t listen and took all academic courses to prove not only to them, but to me as well that I am capable of anything I put my mind to.
What program would you like to attend in school?
I would like to attend a course along the lines of business and leadership. I believe these are my strong suits because I have had a lot of people tell me I am a great leader and that I would do well in that area of work.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I envision myself in a good balance between school and volleyball. I can see myself working hard academically and athletically. I can also see myself meeting lots of new people and I can see myself getting outside of my comfort zone.
