Five words you can use to describe yourself as a high performance athlete.
Five words you can use to describe yourself off your field of play.
Describe how you work in a team.
From the moment I first played volleyball I have always loved the team aspect of the game. Whether that is with my partner on the beach or a group of girls on the court I have always worked well and built strong relationships. I believe building these relationships is a vital part of the game as each person is hugely important to the team and we must work together to succeed. As we continue to work together and get to know each other, we build trust and become more comfortable. I believe this is super important as it makes it easier to understand your teammates and communicate with them on and off the court. When I have a strong bond with another teammate, discussing game plans, strategies and sharing feedback becomes much more open and honest. I love receiving feedback and tips on how to improve my game and help those around me whether it be from a coach or teammate so I can enhance my level of play. I do my best to always stay positive and honest and take on a leadership role so that others do not feel alone in difficult situations. We are a part of a collective team and so being a leader allows me to assist and support others when they are feeling down. I believe positivity is contagious and so I always try to look for the good even in these difficult situations. Volleyball is a very mental sport but it becomes much easier to play the game when you are free and being yourself so I encourage others to do the same by celebrating my teammates and their accomplishments. Another aspect I believe is super important is being motivated and determined. I believe that when one player gives their everything to the game and shows nothing but passion and drive it inspires everyone else to do the same. I always try my hardest and give my all in practices and games to hold myself and those around me to high standards so we can improve as players and teammates every single day.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
Who are your role models and why?
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
From a very young age always loved and wanted to do everything involving sports. I played community soccer from a very young age and grew into a division one player by the time I was 10. During this time I also played ringette at a very high level. I love learning new things and meeting new people so I always participated in school sports like track and badminton as well. All of these sports that I have played have developed me into a better overall athlete and allowed me to further understand the importance of team work and determination. When I was 14 I was introduced to high performance training at a place called “Zeal” and I instantly loved it. The endurance/speed training and weightlifting allowed me to be active and improve my game in every sport I played. It also showed me what drive and a growth mindset can do for a person/athlete. All of these sports or activities are very important to me because they taught me so many valuable lessons I would not have learned if I only played volleyball. They have built me into a well rounded person and pushed me towards people I would have otherwise not met or built relationships with.
Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?
In each of my years of high school I have maintained an average of over 80% and consistently made Honour Roll. During these years I have learned how important school and learning really is as it teaches you how to work hard and hold yourself accountable. After making honour roll I felt amazing because it gave me a sense of accomplishment and showed me that hard work and discipline do pay off. It motivated me to continue pushing myself to the limits and improving who I am am as a student-athlete and overall person.
What program would you like to attend in school?
I am open to a variety of programs and courses. I excel in math, biology, and chemistry and have always had an interest in anatomy and medicine so I believe I would be well suited for kinesiology or nursing.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I envision my college/university life to be filled with new friends and experiences that I will remember forever. Playing volleyball will allow me to easily meet new people and create bonds that will last a lifetime as well as make memories with teammates on and off of the court. I am already a rather independent person but I am excited to take on even more independence and responsibility during my time at school. It is very important to me that I find a place where I can be a student-athlete and strive at each of these aspects. I am very excited to work hard in the program I choose and in the sport I love well integrating myself into the culture of the college/university I attend.
