Describe how you work in a team.
When working in a team, I tend to be a leader by example, a quieter type than many others, though I can still be loud if the situation calls for it. I like to think of myself as a supportive and reliable teammate, who has a calming presence on the group, keeping lows not crushing, and highs not elating.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
My biggest individual achievement in volleyball so far is receiving National All-Star this past season. To have helped my team in such a way and to have been recognized for it was very rewarding for me and I felt very proud to have been given the honour.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
I have played piano for the last 6 years, which I enjoy for its artistic nature, and the fact that it aids me in getting my emotions out and relaxing
I also enjoy reading, as I find its ability to take one out of this world and into another very interesting, and that fact helps me distance myself from the struggles I’m currently facing, and give myself a break from them. Thus it helps me to relax as well.
Who are your role models and why?
I tend to model many of my actions off of my parents. The reasoning for this is that I find them to be of the utmost character and to be very kind and compassionate. They are also just prevalent in my life, and thus are always around me and subconsciously influencing me for the better.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
I played Ice Hockey at the highest level possible without transferring schools, and this experience has had a massive impact on my life and how I act. For example, it taught me the importance of hard work, and the satisfaction of working hard and accomplishing a common goal with people who are working equally as hard. It also taught me much about how to be a good, supportive teammate, and when to make sure people are ok, and when to back off.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I envision lots of classes, and lots of volleyball, as I love to learn almost as much as I love volleyball. I see a great group of teammates, and a dependable group of friends, who help me to be successful wherever I end up.
