What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
Yoga is something that I do almost daily that relaxes my mind and body. It helps me decompress after a long day and helps me retain my flexibility. I started yoga in my 14U year, and I find it is something that needs to be more implemented in sports. Other than active interests, public speaking has become an interest of mine since I joined the public speaking club in Grade 8. It is something that has put me out of my comfort zone and as time went on, I got better and better at it. I like this hobby because it teaches me that practice makes perfect, and failure is okay.
Who are your role models and why?
My role model for my athletic life is Bianca Andreescu. She is a Canadian tennis player that was an underdog in the beginning of her sports career; but through much dedication she has proved herself to the tennis world. I take inspiration from her mindset to always put your best in everything you do. This applies to school, my academics and my everyday life. My other role model that shows me what a strong person looks like is my mom. Through everything my mom has remained strong and has never doubted that I could do something. My determination to pursue my passions comes from her and I couldn’t thank her more.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
Involvement in my community and other sports holds a high importance in my life because it helps me develop connections from all different communities, makes me a better athlete overall, and I love developing my skills in any way possible. Meeting people that I grew to truly love and care for through sports and other extracurriculars is a great feeling that I hope everyone can experience. Playing other sports (Tennis, Cross Country, Gymnastics, Skiing) has made me a more versatile athlete and teaches me to also time manage.

What program would you like to attend in school?
I would like to pursue an education in Political science or engineering. I have always been fascinated by the Stem field and decided at a very early age I was going to pursue it. Understanding how the world works and what I can do to make it better has always been something that I am interested in. I thrive working in teams or groups to achieve a common goal, so I figured the stem field was for me. Engineering is also an environment where I can have hands on experience, which is where I learn best.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I envision my school life in university/college as a time where I learn and grow academically, athletically and socially. Ensuring that I have a healthy and disciplined training regimen that fits well with my academic life while I am being faced with this new way of living is key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. My life will be busier, and I will have more responsibilities, but my key focuses will remain the same. I also imagine this time in my life as a great time to be open to a whole different array of people and cannot wait to exchange conversations and make new connections. I am so excited to be pushed to my limits and I know that the problems I will face will make me a stronger and better person. I believe that if you put 100% into something you can do anything; and that is what I intend to do.
