Describe how you work in a team.
I constantly encourage myself and my team mates to do better. I stay balanced throughout the game and focus on the positives. I try to give my team mates confidence in what they can do individually and what we can achieve together as a team.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
When I received MVP for Grade 9, I felt like all my hours of hard work really paid off. I had gotten so much better as a player. I didn’t let myself off the hook when things became challenging, and it made me such a better player.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
I don’t have a lot of down time after volleyball and studying, but when I do, I love to hang out with my friends. I spend a lot of time with my family and my dog too! I also love watching my brother play basketball at his university.
Who are your role models and why?
Jill Gillam, she is a undersized NCAA player on Arkansas who is a leftside/libero, 5’7″, just like me
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
I played basketball, and danced for many years, but when I found volleyball, I only wanted to play volleyball! It’s my favorite thing to do by far!
Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?
I received a Python achievement award in Grade 9, for achieving a mark of 90 or above in all my courses while playing on two teams. I was really proud of myself and felt like my effort really paid off!
What program would you like to attend in school?
Psychology/Medicine
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I’d love to live in a dorm, play on a great team, excel at a great program and make lots of new friends! I know it will take lots of effort but it will be worth it to have a great career and an awesome university experience.
