Describe how you work in a team.
I am an extremely valuable team player because I’m very supportive and adaptable. I listen to my teammates on and off the court, I am eager to offer help when needed, and I keep an open mind when thinking about the teams’s needs. On the court I focus on clear communication and help to keep a positive, collaborative environment. I make sure my team mates know they can rely on me to perform, but also as a friend.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
Some of my interests outside of volleyball include spending time with my friends and family, working, going to the beach, and travelling. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family because they take my mind off stressors in my life, and bring out the best in me. Working is a key interest outside of volleyball because I believe it prepares you for life after school. Lastly I love the beach and travelling. Travelling gives me a sense of freedom and new begging, I relish in new opportunities and environments.
Who are your role models and why?
My role models are my mother and friends Lauren and Matthew. I met Lauren and Matthew through volleyball, they are older than me and are both currently playing on post-secondary volleyball teams. They pushed me to always play to the fullest of my abilities and now to fulfil my goal of playing post-secondary. My mother is also my role model because she is the strongest, smartest woman I know, and my biggest supporter no matter what I want to pursue.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
Being involved in other sports and extracurricular activities are important because they help teach you skills that are not taught in a classroom like leadership, team work, and time management. I have also made many friendships that I would not have had it not been for my involvement in extracurriculars. Playing multiple sports has not only helped to make me a well rounded player but also helped my confidence knowing I have succeeded in the past and will again with my many opportunities in the future.

What program would you like to attend in school?
I am interested in pursuing a teaching degree, because I would like to become an elementary school teacher. This is a job that interests me because it allows me a somewhat flexible schedule and not only I am teaching kids but I get to help them grow up.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I envision my post-secondary life to be a fresh start with new possibilities and change. I am excited to meet new people and discover new places, while continuing to play the sport I love at a higher level with girls who share the same passion. I am also prepared to organise my schedule based on my new/different priorities.
