Describe how you work in a team.
As the captain of my teams for the last 2 years the best way to work as a team is to put all of your feelings out during the game, take everyone’s input and see what you’re doing right and what you’re doing wrong. If I see someone doesn’t want to speak in a timeout for example, I would talk to them after and make sure they have their input too. The easiest way to win is when everyone is having fun and feels connected.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
When I tested my vertical after a year of working out and it went up 13 inches. This felt great because I lost a lot of weight I had in the process and felt a lot more healthy after.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
My interests outside of sports are video games, space and kinesiology. Like to play video games because it’s now the best way to connect with friends outside of school. I like to search up anything about space just to learn anything about planets or new discoveries. Lastly, in the kinesiology class I’m currently taking I get very interested in how everything in our body’s work.
Who are your role models and why?
Aaron Donald, he’s very good at keeping a positive attitude and always like to self talk what he’s going to do before he does it.
Earvin N’Gapeth, he has a very interesting play style different from everyone else’s and is very creative.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
I played clubs basketball for 3 years before switching to volleyball and still play in high school. I played club soccer for around 6 years since I was little and still play in high school. I try to play every school sport because I think it was a good idea to translate different skills between all the sports to find which one I was the best at.
Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?
My academic highlights from this year are getting my midterms and having an average of 91 with 2 university courses. It felt great to get a good mark because it puts less stress on me if I wasn’t doing well.
What program would you like to attend in school?
I would like to attend a kinesiology program.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
Studying kinesiology and playing volleyball in a university with friends.
