Describe how you work in a team.
I’m a team-first player and a natural leader on the court. I communicate clearly, encourage my teammates, and lead by example through my work ethic and focus. I take responsibility, stay positive under pressure, and help keep the team motivated and connected.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
2025: Collège Stonewall Collegiate JV Girls Athlete of the Year. I felted honored as my school recognized all my hard work and dedication to the sports teams.
JV Girls High School Volleyball Team Captain. When I was named team captain I felt very honoured and took it very serious, my teammates looked up to me. I Loved the challenge and was very successful in this roll. It inspired me to keep striving to be better.
April 2025: 17U Provincials Gold Medal game. Final Kill winning 15-13 in the third set. I had worked so hard to build my skill and confidence that I showed in Provincials. It made me fell very proud of myself as well as my team for helping me get the final kill. We had all worked so hard to get there and for me to shine in that final moment was very rewarding.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
I am interested in music. I have played piano for 10 years and have my level 7 Royal Conservatory of Music. I enjoy playing piano because it helps me focus, be engaged and helps me work under pressure.
I enjoy working out on my own and with a fitness trainer which I have been committed to for the past 3 years.
Who are your role models and why?
My role model is a family friend, Lisa Kachkowsky. She played University volleyball as well as Pro overseas. She has helped guide me and mentor me through my volleyball career since I was in Grade 7. She is very strong, determined, skilled, knowledgeable, and is a kind person. When I see how volleyball shaped her life, it’s the direction I would love to go myself. She’s always there to offer words of wisdom and encouragement.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
Track and field, swimming, wake surfing, wakeboarding, badminton, basketball, cross-country.
I participate in my school teams for Basketball, Badminton, Track and field.
I have been highly involved in track for a couple years as I competed in Manitoba Summer Games as well as I was part of team Manitoba for Western Canada Challenge.
These sports are important to me because I love being part of a team, staying active, and trying to achieve new personal goals.
Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?
I received Merit Award (average 80% and above) and award of excellence (average 90% and above) with an average of 93%. I was extremely excited to be rewarded and recognized for my hard work in school.
What program would you like to attend in school?
Planning to take Sciences. Interested in medicine or dentistry.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I envision myself being very dedicated to my studies and volleyball and being able to be a high performer in both at the same time. I know it is a lot of work to do both as I have asked many people who have been through it. I am up for the challenge and can’t wait for the opportunity to pursue my post-secondary academics while playing a sport I absolutely love.
