Five words you can use to describe yourself off your field of play.
  • Attentive
  • Analytical
  • Humble
  • Adaptable
  • Ambitious
Describe how you work in a team.

I would say I like to remain calm and focused in a competitive environment. I also have coaches who have taught me to think about what my teammates need in the moment and if it’s an energy or confidence, bring it.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

I really enjoy rock climbing as a hobby because it mixes fear with concentration in a way I don’t really experience in my life anywhere else. It also makes me feel very powerful and I love to see progress that I make through the different levels of difficulty. It is also very fun to problem solve with the help of friends who are facing the same problem or might have some insight.

Who are your role models and why?

One of my greatest role models is Jake MacNeil, one of Canada’s most successful beach volleyball players. I admire him because of his mentality. He puts his 100% into everything he does even if it’s just a fun recreational scrimmage with his team. As well, he takes every challenge head on with a positive attitude. Because of his mentality, he competes internationally as a pro volleyball player and gets to do what he loves for a living.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

I played hockey from the age of 3 to 15, including Greater Toronto Hockey League for three years. I think all of the pressure situations I played through on the ice have helped me feel more confident and composed in clutch situations on the volleyball court.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

What program would you like to attend in school?

Engineering, and/or math and computer science.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

I envision myself contributing to a winning team with a coach who will push me to be a better person on and off the court. I also am looking for advanced academics in engineering, math and/or computer science.
