Describe how you work in a team.
I thrive in a team environment where everyone is committed to a shared goal of working their absolute hardest. I bring energy, communication, and trust making sure my teammates feel supported on and off the court. I lead by example by working hard, staying positive, and holding myself accountable.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
Winning Nationals and Provincials were two of my biggest achievements, and both were incredibly rewarding. It was really amazing to see all the hard work, sacrifices, and challenges pay off. I felt a sense of pride in myself, my teammate, coaches, and everyone who supported me. It left me wanting more and gave me motivation to keep improving.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
Outside of volleyball, I love spending time with my friends and family, travelling, baking, and music. My family and friends are really my foundation and such amazing people. I always find myself at my happiest when i’m around them. Travelling excites me because it gives me the most amazing new experiences and memories. And you will literally always find me singing or dancing my heart out to every song.
Who are your role models and why?
My biggest role models growing up were my dad and sister. My dad’s journey as a professional athlete, his work ethic, and his passion for sports made me the person I am today. He taught me that success isn’t just about having talent but, discipline, resilience, confidence and character have a much bigger role. My sister is also one of my biggest role models, and someone who I’ve looked up to my whole life. Watching her compete at the Division 1 level is incredibly inspiring. We are both super competitive, and growing up, I always wanted to keep up with her, challenge her, and eventually beat her. She is the hardest worker I know and will never give up on anything, she is incredibly smart, kind, and supportive and she has been my role model in every way.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
I’ve played many other sports including, indoor volleyball, basketball, badminton, track and field, hockey, skiing, flag football, lacrosse, swimming and climbing. Competing in other sports has helped me become a well-rounded athlete. Outside of sports and working out, I love hanging out with my friends, baking, walking dogs and planning events at school. These activities give me a way to relax and to express myself.
Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?
I have a 3.75 GPA, and my biggest academic highlights has been maintaining on the Honour Roll while competing at a high level. It’s rewarding to know that hard work in the classroom pays off.
What program would you like to attend in school?
Im not sure yet, but in looking for a program that will challenge me academically and support me as an athlete.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I see myself fully embracing the student-athlete lifestyle and pushing myself in training and competition while staying committed to my academics. I want to be part of a competitive, school spirit, team-oriented and fun environment where I can continue to grow as an athlete and a person. I look forward to being part of a team culture and making lifelong memories.
