Describe how you work in a team.
I always make sure to communicate with my teammates because I also appreciate great communication on and off the court.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
When I experience a personal athletic highlight I feel proud because I’ve helped my team move forward.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
I really enjoy cake decorating, working out, shopping and hanging out with friends.
Who are your role models and why?
A role model that I have is Sophie Bukovec. She’s not only an amazing volleyball player; she also gives back to her community. For example, she came to Madawaska for a few days to help out around the camp and inspire and coach many young athletes including myself. She made sure to connect with everyone by talking to athletes of all ages and giving advice.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
I joined the field hockey team because I wanted to try something new. I’ve never played a stick and ball sport and thought this was the perfect opportunity, so I joined and I love it now! Another sport I enjoy is snowboarding. At first I couldn’t get down a hill but after lots of bruises, effort and coaching I was able to improve so that I can now use the terrain park (where snowboarders do tricks). Trying new sports is very important to me because I love learning new things and meeting new people.
Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?
I have received Honour Roll every year and I take pride in my academic achievement.
What program would you like to attend in school?
I would like to go into health sciences because I’ve always loved learning about the human body.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I envision myself playing varsity sports, being involved in a strong academic environment and building relationships with my friends that I’ll develop throughout university.
