Describe how you work in a team.
I create a strong relationship with my teammates and coaches on and off the court. I have been able to grow into a leadership role on the court, and support my teammates no matter what. I have high energy on the court that easily transfers to my teammates throughout the games.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
– Fair Play award at Nationals 2022-2023
– Selected for Team Ontario Regional Program
When these athletic accomplishments happened I felt very proud of myself, and the opportunity to represent my club at the program. I also felt like my hard work during the tryouts had paid off.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
When I am not in the gym playing volleyball I like hanging out with my friends, and going to the cottage with my family. I like doing these things because I get to spend time with the people I care about.
Who are your role models and why?
My role model is my mom because she is very successful and continues to work hard and show me what it means to be dedicated. She also teaches me the best lessons like how to stand up for myself.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
I love to be involved in my school team sports like basketball, volleyball and track. I also play instruments. It is important to me to remain well rounded in my other sports and extracurriculars, and to stay active and healthy.
Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?
Honour Roll (2023)
When I received Honour Roll I felt very happy and excited knowing that I graduated Grade 8 being able to keep my grades high while also playing rep volleyball.
What program would you like to attend in school?
Right now I would like to attend a program for architecture. I am interested in this because I am good at math and I am creative as well, and that program seems the best of both worlds.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I envision my school life in college/university to be fun while I keep focused on volleyball and get good grades. I am looking forward to meeting new friends, coaches, and teammates as I further pursue my education.
