Describe how you work in a team.

I prefer to work on a team rather than compete on my own. This was the piece that was missing from my competitive swimming, and one of the reasons I love volleyball. I foster a positive atmosphere on our team by encouraging all team members to play hard and have fun while striving for excellence. My teammates are some of my closest friends.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

The biggest highlight for me in my volleyball career to date was making the 2023 Team Ontario Regional Program. I was thrilled to be chosen and excited for the journey!

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

I am a creative person, and enjoy trying new crafts such as jewellery-making and love experimenting with different make-up techniques. I am a huge animal lover and have so much fun caring for my 2 dogs, 2 parrots, dwarf hamster, and my 2 fish.

Who are your role models and why?

I am inspired by Erick Shoji–Libero for the US National Volleyball Team. His defensive skills are outstanding; he plays hard, but always shows how much he loves the sport.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

Competitive swimming with Orillia Channel Cats Swim Club (2014 – 2020)

Competitive swimming really sparked my interest in competition and pushing myself as an athlete. The strength I built swimming has been very helpful for volleyball!

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

I have learned so much since starting high school. I didn’t realize how much I loved biology and English until this year!

What program would you like to attend in school?

I have so many different ideas for the future. Right now, I am interested in English and continuing to learn new languages.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

I am looking forward to studying in university but dream of balancing my studies with playing volleyball. I know how important it is to overall health to have both in my life.
