Five words you can use to describe yourself off your field of play.
  • Positive
  • Kind
  • Compassionate
  • Resilient
  • Creative
Describe how you work in a team.

In a team I would say I’m a quiet leader, I lead by example rather than by speaking the most. I always encourage my teammates, and try to get to know them on and off the court as best as I can. I make sure I’m someone my teammates can come ask questions and talk to whenever they need something.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

I was excited to learn I was selected for Team Ontario White this summer. My age group is very competitive so I was proud of myself for being picked. I was also was very excited to learn from new coaches and meet new players.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Outside of sports I like to spend time with my family and my friends. I enjoy spending time with them because they are always there for me and support me in everything I do. I also like to spend time at the gym, so I can get stronger and healthier to prevent injuries.

Who are your role models and why?

My role models are my coaches. They have taught me how to stay positive during rough games and to always work hard and push yourself. They push me to do my best, not just in volleyball but in everything I do.

My other role model is Andi Jackson, I enjoy watching her play. She is an amazing player, but she is also someone who carries herself very well on and off the court.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

Ski racing has always been a big part of my life. I started when I was a little kid, but I stopped racing to focus on my volleyball development. I like to play as many school sports as I can. I’ve been on the ultimate frisbee team both years of high school, and I also play soccer at school. Playing multiple sports has taught me so much and helped me become a well rounded athlete that has helped me develop my volleyball skills.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

One of my academic highlights was making the honour roll in high school. I was very happy and proud because it’s not always easy to balance school and sports. Time management is something I’ve always prioritised.

What program would you like to attend in school?

I would like to pursue a business degree. Since its a good foundation to start a career, and it can open up many opportunities.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

I see my college/university being a very fun and exciting experience, that will create many new friendships and memories. I would also like to continue my volleyball career in college/university, while focusing on my academics.
