Describe how you work in a team.

In a team, I motivate with goals, positivity and create the best connections possible with my teammates to make our performance and experience on the court as fulfilling as it can be.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

When receiving a silver medal at Nationals in 14u, I felt so grateful to have been able to have played with my teammates and have as much fun as we did while training hard. The bonds you make in a sport are some of the strongest bonds I have and to be able to compete and obtain such a reward together was an unreal experience.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Outside of sports, I really enjoy cooking, recently I won a competition at my school called master chef and the dish I made will be featured on the school menu. I am part of a family of six and meals have always been important to us, we have lived in many parts of the world such as Switzerland and Singapore. I’ve had the opportunity to learn a lot about different cultures, including what food they like to eat. Cooking is a way that I can share what I’ve learnt and have a nice meal while I’m at it!

Who are your role models and why?

A role model I look up to a lot is Ruby Sorra. She is a Canadian Beach volleyball player who also comes from Ontario but most recently competed in beach Nationals. Though Ruby is not much older than me, I admire her for the joy and passion by which she plays volleyball and hope to have the same spirit she has as well.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

Though volleyball does take up a large part in my schedule, I play on school teams such as soccer or rowing and participate in clubs such as the psychology club and theatre club. I find these places are where I find time of the court to make me stronger physically and mentally in ways that are different and challenge me in areas I’m not used to. Helping me grow on and off the court.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

I had only recently started at a new school when I achieved my position as class president, I was exited to take on this new role and since then, I’ve been able to practice speaking in school wide assemblies and become much more comfortable speaking in public than I was starting the role.

What program would you like to attend in school?

Though I’m still in the early stages of high school, something I’ve always been interested in is psychology and the sciences. Programs that involve working with math and science would definitely be something I would enjoy in school.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?
