Describe how you work in a team.

I get to know my teammates deeper than their skill level. I know my role and my strengths. I learn to build trust by letting them trust me first. I mentally prepare and don’t panic, by being a mental leader.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

I was runner up for the provincial excellence award. I learned that the winner had a louder presence on the court. I was very happy for my teammate and I know what to improve on.

At VPC (Volleyball Positions Camp) I got an award for being coachable, following directions very fast and executing them. I was happy that my hard work paid off.

On my junior high school team, I was nominated for the most useful player on the court. I felt grateful that my coach chose me as the top three.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

I like to read. I love it because all the books I read make it seem like I’m a part of the story.

I enjoy spending time with my friends while playing sports or hanging out. Friendships are important to me and they make everything more fun

I’ve had the chance to visit a variety of different countries and it’s made my love for travelling grow every time.

Who are your role models and why?

I don’t have a specific role model but I look up to people that don’t give up on something they want and put in the work to achieve their goals.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

In the past, I have played on ultimate frisbee, soccer and basketball teams. It’s important to me because I love playing sports and staying active. I love the environment of different sports teams.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

I have been on the Honour Roll for the past 3 years. It’s a nice way to be recognized for my hard work.

What program would you like to attend in school?

I would like to eventually go to law school. I am not sure yet what my undergraduate studies will be in but some of my interests include business, math and psychology.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

My goal is to play volleyball for a university. I would prefer staying close to home but am open to new opportunities.
