Describe how you work in a team.

When I’m on a team, I try to lead by example, whether that’s through my work ethic, attitude, or just being dependable. I really value having a strong bond with my teammates, so I always try to be positive and encouraging. It’s important to me that we all trust each other and push each other to perform our best.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

MVP of 16U club season

Getting the MVP award meant a lot because it showed me how far I’ve come. I’ve put in a lot of work to improve, and hearing that my team trusted and depended on me really made it all worth it. It felt good to know that the effort I put in made a difference for the team.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Outside of volleyball, I really enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family. I love getting to see new places and experience different things. Spending quality time with those I care about keeps me feeling refreshed and ready to give my best in everything I do.

Who are your role models and why?

My role model is definitely my mom. She’s a single mom, and she does everything she possibly can for me and my sister. Watching her work so hard, juggle everything, and still manage to show up for us no matter what has taught me so much about strength and resilience. She’s always there, putting us first, and it makes me want to work hard and be the best version of myself for her.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

School basketball means a lot to me because it feels like its own community. Going to OFSAA twice was such an amazing experience and I learned a lot.

I also do as many school teams as possible such as softball, flag football, and more. I like to see how much I can learn and push myself as an athlete.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

Receiving the Honour Roll in Grades 9, 10, and 11 made me feel accomplished. It was a reminder that hard work pays off. Staying focused and giving my best effort paid off not only academically but also in building my confidence. Another highlight was receiving the Biology Award in Grade 11. It felt rewarding to be recognized for something I was passionate about, and it gave me more motivation to keep pushing myself in my studies.

What program would you like to attend in school?

I’d like to study health sciences with the goal of eventually attending medical school. I’m interested in potentially pursuing psychiatry, as I’m passionate about understanding the mind and helping people with their mental health. I know it’s going to take a lot of hard work, but I’m excited to take the steps toward this path and make a positive impact in the field.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

I envision my university life to be both successful and memorable. I’m excited to dive into my studies, especially in health sciences, while still being able to pursue volleyball. I can’t wait to meet new coaches, teammates, and friends who share that same drive for the game. I look forward to the balance of working hard in my academics and growing as an athlete, while building lasting relationships.
