Describe how you work in a team.

As someone who loves sport, I enjoy working with others as a team. I lead mostly by example through my work ethic and determination. I always make sure to create strong bonds with my teammates so I can easily support them, as well as push them to their limits, on and off the court. I like what the dynamics of a team brings in that everyone can play a part and has a unique role on the team.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

I am always grateful for the results that I have achieved either with my team or individually. I feel accomplished and appreciate the recognition that is a result of my hard work.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Outside of sports, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. As I am always busy, I don’t often get to spend quality time with my family and friends. When I do, it feels like a breath of fresh air. I also enjoy working out because it gives me a sense of accomplishment and I can always rely on it to boost my mood.

Who are your role models and why?

My biggest role models are my family. They are my #1 supporters and support me no matter what. They are also athletes, who’s achievements have inspired me to strive for more. My family has always reminded to me to believe in myself and to continue to work hard, never settling for less.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

Being involved in other sports of extracurriculars truly challenges my athletic abilities or keeps me involved in all avenues of sport. In school, I aim to be involved in as many extra curriculars as possible. Things like soccer, flag football, tennis, ultimate frisbee, badminton.

Volleyball Refereeing- It allows me to gain a better understanding of the game and see it from a different perspective.

Soccer- I’ve played soccer at the highest levels for 13 years. It has allowed me to work on different aspects of my game such as endurance, agility and game IQ.

Competitive Cheerleading- It taught me how to trust a team, minimize mistakes and take correction. It also taught me how to handle pressure, as competitions were in front of thousands of people.

Working Out- It allows me to activate other muscle groups, decreasing chances of overuse injuries

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

I feel proud because I know that I put a lot of effort in everything that I do.

What program would you like to attend in school?

I would like to major in Kinesiology in school. I want to work in the health science field so that I can continue to be involved in sport.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

In university, I hope to build lasting friendships and connections. The thought of competing at high levels and contributing to a school team excites me. I hope to personally develop as a student athlete during my time at school. I hope that I can become knowledgeable in my field so that I am successful in my future career.
