Describe how you work in a team.
I love playing volleyball because it is a team sport. I love supporting my team members and cheering them on as well as the excitement I get from creating a great play with my teammates. I believe that working in a team involves communication and showing up for your teammates. As a team member I always listen to what my teammates have to say and am not afraid to try new things. I think that it is important to make sure that I play as hard as I can and show up to practice and games ready to compete.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
One of my greatest highlights in my athletic career was playing at my U16 OVA Provincials after I had recovered from a knee surgery that left me on the sidelines for a year. During my year of recovery I sat and watched every single practice and game, while working hard to teach myself to walk, run and jump again. When I was finally back on the court I felt so much pride and joy. I was back as an even better player then before. I am a smarter player now because of the amount of time I spent on the bench and I am more confident in myself.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Who are your role models and why?
My role models are my family. They have showed me every day what it means to work hard. The have showed me how to support and encourage the people around me by doing the same for me. However, my mom is my main role model. She was the one that coached my earlier years of volleyball being a University volleyball player and coach herself. She taught me how to play smart and hard, and what it means to be a teammate and an athlete.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
Outside of volleyball I am a ski instructor at Caledon Ski Club, Ontario, Canada. When I was younger I spent every weekend that I wasn’t playing volleyball, ski racing. As I got older I decided to continue with volleyball and stop ski racing. Now, I get to teach passionate kids every weekend and show them the joy of skiing.

What program would you like to attend in school?
In school I have always been drawn to architecture and design. I first found myself interested in architecture when my Technology and Design teacher showed my class a video about Indigenous architects that implemented important meanings and stories into the building that they designed. I have been fascinated ever since. My passion for design has blossomed in my Technology and Design class, Visual Arts class and Welding class. I love being creative and finding new was to display my ideas through different textures, colours, and medias.
