Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
One of my highlights as an athlete over the years was when my Sky Volleyball Club Team came into provincials ranked twenty-second and we came out ranked fourth. This was a really unique moment for me and the whole team, as we were able to represent our small town of Vernon on a big scale and our club in a great way! Another highlight of mine in volleyball would be being named Co-Captain of my Fulton High school Volleyball Team. Ever since I had gotten to my high school I looked up to all of the “big girls” on the senior team. In particular, the current Captain of the team. I looked up to how passionate, competitive and positive she was with all of her teammates on the court. I always knew I wanted to be in her position. So, when my high school coach pulled me into her office and told me I had earned the Co-Captain position I felt a huge sense of pride and accomplishment. It was such a special moment for me because I felt like my hard work on the court and with my teammates had been noticed.

Who are your role models and why?
My club and academy coach is a huge role model in my life. He is such a motivated, caring, hardworking and kind person. Everyday you can see he is trying to better himself and the people around him, I look up to that attribute in him very much. A huge thing that he has taught me about volleyball is that it is so much more than just the win/lose ratio. The bond you create with your teammates, all of the fun times like sharing hotel rooms, road trips and getting pumped up for a big match with the team is what is most valuable. Those are the things we will remember.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
During the winter months I love to go snowboarding on the Ski Hill about twenty minutes from my house. I’m really grateful I have this apart of my life because I can go to up to the hill with my friends and have a day where we are disconnected from our normal lifestyle, with no stress. I enjoy how peaceful it can be and also how much fun you can make it. This is such a great outlet for me and I love having that time with my friends.
