Describe how you work in a team.

Extremely supportive, for example cheering up teammates who are down to try and bring them out of the gutter.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

I’ve gotten volleyball MVP and my school each year and it’s been a great feeling to know I am wanted by my team. I hope I can continue to make a huge impact on the school team.

Athlete of the year was also very surprising to me, I only did two sports in Grade 9 track and field and volleyball but I was one of the top performers in both sports, because of this they gave me athlete of the year and I couldn’t have been happier.

Finally, making the high performance team each year has made me really happy. It’s not a super easy spot to get into and there are a lot of people who try out so being one of the kids there each year makes me feel like I belong.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

I enjoy playing video games, it’s a fun time I spend with friends.

Who are your role models and why?

Yuki Ishikawa because he’s a pretty short left side hitter but definitely makes up for it with smart plays and effort.

Ryan Sclater because he is one of the only right handed right sides I’ve seen in the VNL which helps me understand that a right handed right side can still work very well.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

I’ve played countless sports in the past but mostly the only one I still do is skiing. It’s a time I enjoy spending with my family and is really fun.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

I’ve gotten the Honor Roll each year and to be honest it’s a little underwhelming because our school is very smart and so almost every kid gets it.

What program would you like to attend in school?

I would like to attend a computer science program and hopefully a game design program.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

I hope it will be exciting with a little bit of travelling with volleyball and a lot of work put in to school and physical training.
