Describe how you work in a team.
My role on a team has always been the loudest player, one of the most energetic, but I also try to hold myself and my teammates to a certain standard in practice and in games, trying to help hold everybody to a certain level of focus and determination no matter the day. I’m quite an encouraging player, and try to be close with every girl on the team. I am very intense, and I try to set an example with consistency and determination while being the most energetic player. I always try to be a leader, but by being the most mentally tough, and being strong, I want to be the energy player that the team can count on in intense pressure situations. I always love the girls I play with, and I want them to know they can rely on me for anything they need on or off the court.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
When I was selected for the team Alberta programs, I felt proud of myself, because I could see my hard work paying off. After all the extra hours I dedicated, and everything I put into my sport it was like people saw what I could be and where I could go. I never started out as the best player on the team, I was the loudest, and the most energetic, but sometimes I felt like that’s all I would be seen as, I wanted to be one of the best players to, to be consistent on the court so my team could trust me, so I proved something to myself: that my dedication was paying off. When receiving the heart and hustle awards, I felt so proud to be the heart of the team, that I could be that player to my team, and that I could bring that energy and spirit to the court.
