Describe how you work in a team with your partners.
I work extremely well with my beach partners and with my team. Being on a team brings me joy because I get to form amazing friendships and get to play and enjoy the sport with people that love it as much as I do. I believe that a team needs to provide players that are there to work hard, play hard and think hard. As a player, I connect very well with my teammates and coaches as it provides an environment of trust and good communication. I’m especially proud of my ability to encourage my teammates when we are down. I’m an extremely savvy and reliable person to talk to on and off the court.

Each time I have received one of these accomplishments, I’ve felt very proud of my team, partners and myself for all the hard work. I also feel very grateful for the hard work from my coaches and the support from my family.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
Outside of the sports world, I love spending time with my family, working out (especially running) and I cannot forget about my passion for baking! I come from a family of 4: my mom, dad, sister and myself. My sister is 2 years older than me and also plays volleyball. She is going to Stetson for Beach Volleyball and I’m so proud of her! I have a dog named Ruby and she’s 6 years old! I love taking Ruby on walks and seeing her run around. I workout at a gym called Goodlife Fitness, and it’s a big passion that I have. It makes me feel happy and energized and strong. Lastly, baking is my favourite. I bake all sorts of things such as cookies, cakes, cinnamon buns and more. I’ve baked for several years now and I just keep on loving it more and more.
Who are your role models and why?
One of my role models is Sophie Bukovec. She is an extremely positive and very hard working beach volleyball athlete and coach. She always does what she puts her mind to and is always there for her family and friends. One thing that stands out to me about Sophie is the determination and drive that she has for the sport. From the many clinics and practices I have attended with Sophie, she has always shown her eagerness and love for the sport and helps develop us young athletes with her guidance and expertise.
Another one of my role models is Melissa Humana-Paredes. She is also one of my role models because she plays and practices like I have never seen before. She goes for everything, hustles like crazy and is high energy. I look up to her because I love how much effort she puts into every attack and how she’s engaged in the sport.
What program would you like to attend in school?
As a student, I am interested in pursuing a degree in education.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I envision my college/university years to be some of the best memories and years of my life. I picture myself studying what I love while playing the sport that I love. I picture myself surrounded with an environment of positive and motivated people and creating amazing friendships. I feel like I will grow as a person and manage my time as a student athlete very well as I am very organized and do an excellent job of it in high school. I am very excited to one day play the sport I love and study what I am passionate about!
