  • Outgoing
  • Motivated
  • Strategic
Describe how you work in a team.

The biggest element of volleyball is the team you play with, and to excel individually is driven by teamwork and support. Being positive with every play, cheering on your teammates, and growing not only as a player but a person is my favourite thing about the sport. I like to acquire leadership amongst my teammates because I love to encourage them to be the best that they are, as it is the key to executing gameplay successfully and as a team. I am always willing to be a team player and adapt to any situation.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

Grass Tournament SILVER

17U McGregor Cup GOLD

These specific highlights has developed my gameplay, but also abilities as an athlete. I moved clubs to Norfolk and my first tournament before indoor was the silver medal. I was so excited to see how I would grow as a player and to play with new teammates. As the season went on, I progressed with critique, practice, and training, and by the gold medal game I felt so confident as a player. Moments so small that have taught me to have confidence in my skill and to own that I am a good athlete, realizing my full potential and to never give up on myself if I make a mistake, or miss a play. There is always room is improve and excel.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

I enjoy time with family and friends when I am not training or playing, but I also enjoy spending time by myself. I like to learn new things about me and gain my own life experiences, whatever I want to succeed at or experience I must put my mind to and take control. I enjoy travelling and new places, and I made big travels in 2023.

Who are your role models and why?

A big role model of mine is a college student athlete who attended the university of Louisville, Claire Chausee. She shows hard-work and determination that give her success on and off the court. She has great sportsmanship as well and so much kindness as a person. I want to be a student athlete following her morals of being able to shine academically and athletically, while making a difference in people’s lives and following passion and dreams of my own.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

Pre-COVID I was involved in sports and clubs with-in my school that I no longer pursue now. I was also a dancer for years. These other activities helped me shape myself as the athlete I stand now. To gain and implement knowledge/skill in many sports and activities has given me the ground to build my technique in volleyball and figure out myself as an athlete, and a human.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

Honour Roll 2020-2021

Honour Roll 2019-2020

When I received these specific awards I felt accomplished as I academically was the best version of myself, and the hard work behind the scenes supported my success. I appreciate academics and value them as a reflection of my work ethic tied in with the many subjects. Even working with things I am unfamiliar with, I will always find a way to make something out of it and push forwards.

What program would you like to attend in school?

I would like to attend a college that offers a bridge from RPN to RN studies. My set plan as of now is a path affiliated with healthcare.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

I aspire to be working at the goals I am making currently, to strive in nursing and healthcare with courses for specialization alongside, and to play volleyball competitively post-secondary. I want to have a balanced academic and athletic experience, along with creating social, team, and coach relationships.
