Describe how you work in a team.
I excel in a team environment as I bring a supportive and encouraging spirit to the table. I am always focused on pushing my teammates to reach their full potential and I believe that success is achieved through collaboration. As a result, I work together with my teammates, creating an environment where we all contribute our strengths and work together to achieve our common goals.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
A significant athletic highlight in my life was achieving the title of 16U Volleyball National Champion. The pride I felt upon receiving this title served as proof that my commitment, dedication, and continuous pursuit of improvement were all worthwhile. A powerful reminder that success is not easily obtained, and that hard work will always reap its rewards.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
I like cooking because it allows me to get creative with flavors and make delicious food. The smells, textures and tastes in the kitchen are amazing, and when I finally get to taste what I’ve made, it’s like a small victory. I love sharing what I cook with my family and friends because it brings us all closer. Learning new recipes keeps it interesting, and when I’m in the kitchen, I can forget about everything else and just focus on the cooking. Some of my favorites are tteok-bokki, ramen soup and chocolate chip cookies.
Who are your role models and why?
My sister is my role model. She excels in all realms which include academics and sports. Showcasing dedication and skill. In academics, she’s diligent and determined, always striving for excellence. On the volleyball court, she’s a fierce competitor, leading by example with her skill and focus. Her ability to succeed in both areas inspires me to push myself further in all aspects of life.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
For me, involvement in other sports holds great significance. Playing different sports is an incredibly enjoyable experience, especially when exploring new ones I’ve never tried before. This year, I’ve made the decision to join my school’s football team. While I’m aware that I may not excel right from the beginning, my primary motivation is simply to have fun.. Engaging in extracurricular sports is important as it enables me to develop versatile skill sets, enhance my time management, and create new friendships.
Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?
I consistently strive to earn a place on the Honour Roll with a grade exceeding 90% and I take great pride in my ability to achieve this. Maintaining such high grades is important to me as it help me remain dedicated and consistent in my educational journey.
What program would you like to attend in school?
I’m still undecided about my program, but I do have a strong interest in both engineering and aviation. I’m exploring my options and trying to gain a better understanding of these fields before making a decision. Both engineering and aviation have aspects that really intrigue me, so I want to take my time to figure out which one aligns best with my long-term goals.
