Describe how you work in a team.

If I am on the court or off the court I try and keep a positive mindset that brings up the players around me and encouraging us to always do our best and that it is okay to make some mistakes. I have always been told that don’t let the little mistakes get to me and hold me down from reaching my potential, I always shake it off and focus on the next point. Having that in a teammate is important because you know that they are not going to dwell on the past but only focusing on how they can be better.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Outside of sport I love spending time with my friends and family, they are a big part of my life and bring me such happiness. I also love reading and painting even though I am not a very good painter I find it relaxing and fun especially when I do it with the people that I love.

Who are your role models and why?

My role model is my older brother, he starting playing volleyball only in Grade 11 and watching his dedication towards the sport inspired me to do the same. My brother has always been by my side and watching him go off and play post secondary reality kicked in and I realised that I could too. I am excited to open up those possibilities for me knowing I will always have my brother by my side supporting me too.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

– Softball: I started playing softball around the same time I started playing volleyball and not only was it a great experience but it also improved my volleyball technique in ways I did not know was possible, specifically my arm swing in relation to throwing a softball

– Hockey: Hockey has always been an outlet for me and a major part of my childhood, playing hockey has allowed me to learn to be aggressive and not give up on your teammates especially when you need it the most.
