Describe how you work in a team.

In a team I tend to be the one of the loudest and I like to help lead the group to success. I like to organize a plan and work together with everyone else to execute it. I am often the person to take initiative for our team and make sure everyone has a role.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

Jr. Girls Volleyball MVP award- When I received this award I felt extremely grateful and proud of myself and like all of my hard work paid off. During the 2021-22 season I was putting in a lot of work to balance my rep volleyball, school volleyball and academic schedule. When I received the MVP award it made me feel that I did a good job managing my workload and that I am able to achieve my goals even with a busy schedule.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Two of my favourite things to do outside of sports include cooking and spending time at my cottage. I love to cook and try new recipes because it allows me to be creative and experiment with different things. I enjoy spending time at my cottage because I love nature and being outside. I also love being with my family and that is what my cottage is all about.

Who are your role models and why?

My role models are my parents. My mom is a very powerful and strong woman that has been through a lot but she still managed to come out as the most caring and loving person. She is the most incredible mother that I can imagine and she always puts others before herself. She is the woman that I look up to most and the mother and friend that I aspire to be. My dad is the most hard working and supportive person that I know. He does everything he can for his family and he is always there for people that need him. He works super hard for our family and provides us all with an amazing life and that is the person that I want to be when I am older.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

Soccer was the first sport that I loved and played competitively and it taught me a lot about hard work and how to be a teammate. When I was trying out for soccer I first learned that when I really focus and put my mind to something and I can achieve anything which is something that I have carried on to the rest of my life. I had to really work hard to get on that team and it showed me how nothing in life is going to be given to you and to accomplish your goals you have to put in a lot of effort. I also learned the importance of being a supportive, caring and selfless person especially when it comes to sports. For you and your team to succeed everyone has to work together and be there for each other even when things are difficult.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

Grade 9 Honour Roll- When I received this award I felt very excited and appreciative because even after the adjustment to high school I was still able to achieve my academic goals. I was able to picture myself in the rest of school and my future career accomplishing my goals and dreams and it made me feel confident that I can get into the University and program that I want. This made me feel very excited about completing and enjoying the rest of my education.

What program would you like to attend in school?

In University my goal is to complete a 2 year undergrad before completing a 4 year PharmD program.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

I envision my life in University to be very busy but go extremely well. I picture myself loving all of the classes and the academic path that I chose to take along with playing high level volleyball with an amazing team. I imagine that myself and my teammate will have an extraordinary bond and we will do very well throughout our season together. I am very excited for my life in University and all of the memories that I will make and remember forever.
