Each time I have earned one of these athletic accomplishments I have felt an overwhelming amount of pride and gratitude. These milestones prove how your dedication and determination pay off, and it also shows what the support from your peers can help you accomplish.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Piano – I learned how to play piano at my elementary school, and have been playing on and off in my free time ever since graduating.

The outdoors – I love spending time outdoors because it helps me be more present in life. It gives me a break from the constant day to day hustle.

Physical activity – I enjoy biking, working out, kayaking, hiking, swimming and yoga. Staying active and moving my body makes me happy, and is just a ton of fun.

Reading – I don’t read as much as I’d like to, but when I find the time, I really enjoy it. My favourite book is Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins.

Games – I LOVE to play games. If anyone pulls out a board game or card game SIGN ME UP!

Who are your role models and why?

Three of my role models include Morgan Hentz, TJ Sanders and Zoe Fleck. All of these athletes embody what it means to be elite. Their work ethic, competitiveness, confidence, volleyball IQ, and ruthlessness on the court inspires me to push my limits and to become that type of person. Not only are they top tier athletes, they are good people as well. Their integrity and positivity towards the people around them proves that they are the ideal teammates to have on a team. Being an outstanding athlete can only get you so far, but being an outstanding person will result in a much more fulfilled and successful life.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

Involvement in sports and other extracurricular is important to me because it pushes me to try things outside of my comfort zone. The more uncomfortable you make yourself, the stronger you’ll get, because your weaknesses will eventually turn into your strengths.

Each time I have earned one of these academic accomplishments I have felt a strong sense of satisfaction. I am a very committed student and set a high standard for myself, and everyday I bring with me a keen desire to learn. I know what I am capable of accomplishing in the classroom, and I will do everything possible to ensure I get the results that I desire.

What program would you like to attend in school?

I’m definitely interested in studying kinesiology for my undergraduate degree. As an athlete I’m surrounded by kinesiology on a daily basis, and I find it really fascinating. I’ve always had great experiences with professionals in the physical therapy field, and I look forward to helping others in the same manner in the future.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

I envision my life in university to be the most challenging, yet the most exciting time of my life. It is going to be physically and mentally demanding, and I will be pushed to have more independence and dedication than I have now. I will build some of the most important relationships that I will have in my life and experience the best memories. I would like to attend a prestigious school that strives for excellence both academically and athletically, where there is truly a familial bond within the team.
