Describe how you work in a team.

I am a great team player, and I look out for my teammates. I love when my team can find success, but also when my teammates can find individual success. I am a leader on the court, by encouraging others and working hard. I work my hardest at practice and on the court. I am also very supportive, even when I am not playing.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

– Female Athlete of the Year at my high school (2022): I was very surprised that I won, but I felt very honored. This is voted on my teachers and coaches, and I really appreciate that they all notice my hard work
– Voted Captain of my Senior Varsity volleyball team (2022): As a Grade 11, this was a great surprise. I was very happy to know all my teammates and my coaches noticed my leadership skills, and that they could count on me to set an example.
– Selected for Volleyball Canada U19 Western Targeted Development Camp (2023): I was very excited to be selected for this. It was a great opportunity to work with the best coaches and learn lots from other amazing athletes.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Outside of sports, I work very hard at school. I spend a lot of time doing homework and studying. I also enjoy spending time with my family, my friends and playing with my dogs. One of my favorite hobbies is reading.

Who are your role models and why?

My parents are definitely my role models. They are two of the most hardworking people I know. My parents have given my siblings and I every opportunity we can get to do what we love, and to try new things. My parents are very generous and kind. I really look up to them for that. They are supportive of every decision I make, and are always cheering me on.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

I play basketball in school, and last year for club. I’ve made a lot of great friends through the sport, and I love how different it is from volleyball

I swam competitively for 11 years of my life. It is the first sport I ever did. I loved that it was all individual, and my success completely depended on how hard I wanted to work

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

– Honor Roll (Grades 8,9,10) in French Immersion
I felt very honored to receive this award, as one of few students that did in my grade. I felt grateful that my hard work throughout the year was being recognized.

What program would you like to attend in school?

I would like to go into Pharmacy because I love math and science. I want to be in the medical field, without having to become a doctor, nurse, etc.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

I envision myself working a hard as I am right now academically. Athletically, I can’t wait for new experiences with coaches and teammates. They’re like another family. I am very excited to study what I love and play volleyball at the same time.
