Describe how you work in a team.

When working within a team, I bring positive and supportive energy to help my team achieve our goals. Ways in which I bring positive energy are by giving my teammates positive feedback and cheering them on. I make my words count when I’m on the court.

Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:

When receiving a gold medal in an OVA select tournament during the 2023-2024 season, the most memorable moments for me were during the last game. Although we were tired, through dedication and teamwork we came back in the third set from a score of 9-14. It was so memorable to play those points with my teammates and leave it all on the court. It was a reminder that hard work and dedication pay off.

What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?

Outside of volleyball, some of the things I enjoy are spending time with family, and baking. With school and volleyball, my schedule can fill up, however I always make time to spend with my family. My favourite activity to do with family is to walk our dogs in the ravines around our neighborhood. This gives me a chance to relax and have fun with my family. I also really enjoy baking as I love to try new recipes and experiment with different ingredients, plus the outcome is always very good!

Who are your role models and why?

One of my role models is my sister Kathleen. Throughout high school, she was always determined to reach her goals and did not let any bumps in the road put her down. She has such and positive outlook on life that inspires me everyday. Kathleen never fails to support me in everything that I do. Another one of my role models is my mom, she has taught me to give everyone around me the benefit of the doubt which is a lesson that I carry with me everyday. She inspires me by the way she radiates positivity and kindness.

Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?

Being involved in extracurrciculars such as cross country and school councils have allowed me to become a more well rounded person with a wide range of skills. The skills I have learned from these experiences such as leadership, and perseverance have made me a better volleyball player.

Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?

When receiving the position of house council member this past year I felt very accomplished as I had worked hard to get there. I had been on the council the year prior and was happy to see that my hard work was noticed and paid off. Through this experience, I get the opportunity to develop my creativity, problem solving and leadership skills.

What program would you like to attend in school?

In university, I am hoping to be a part of programs related to science or kinesiology. Throughout high school, these courses have always interested me.

How do you envision your school life in college/university?

At university, I envision myself being apart of a very supportive volleyball community with values of dedication, love and hardwork. I envision myself being apart of a program that interests and excites me to learn more about. Although I anticipate that it will be difficult at the beginning, after surrounding myself with people who support me, I know it will be a lot of fun!
