Describe how you work in a team with your partners.
Working as a team requires a lot of positivity, and having an understanding of the people you are surrounded by. I really enjoy bringing my teammates up while they are down and seeing the team overcome challenging moments on and off the court.
Athletic highlights and how you felt when you received them:
Winning the provincial championships in 2019 made me feel so grateful and proud of the work my team and I had put in. However, it also brought this motivating feeling of wanting to learn and work more towards my goals.
What are your interests outside of sports? Why do you like them?
Outside of sports, I really enjoy being surrounded by my friends. They act as a separate world from sports and a different form of a support system. I also really enjoy going to the gym and working out, it releases such a calming feeling.
Who are your role models and why?
Many of the close adults in my life are such big role models to me, however, my parents are my biggest role models. They taught me what hard work really looks like and how people can really accomplish what they want when they don’t give up.
Involvement in other sports or extracurricular. Why is it important for you?
Another sport that I really enjoy is swimming, I used to swim competitively and I enjoy it so much because of how different the sport is from any other sport. Swimming was very therapeutic and never chaotic that is why I love it so much. Besides swimming, I explored many other sports such as skating, synchronized swimming, and soccer and I also played the piano for 4 years.
Academic highlights and how you felt when you received them?
Getting into the AP program in high school made me feel so proud and accomplished. It proved to me that hard work pays off.
What program would you like to attend in school?
I am really interested in pursuing a business degree or law in my future. It would be interesting to combine the two in the future.
How do you envision your school life in college/university?
I envision my college/university experience being a very positive one by meeting new people who are really motivating and supportive. I can also see it being a competitive environment to some point. My dream is to play volleyball during my college/university experience.
